Dr Tanya Lecchi

BA Hons (Psychol), MSc (ClinPsych), PhD (Psychol), DPsych

Tanya is a clinical and counselling psychologist, as well as a constructivist psychotherapist. She has completed a professional training in MBSR and MBCT and has sustained a meditation practice since 1999. As part of her PhD, Tanya has designed a mindfulness-based intervention for maltreated children and adolescents in residential care (MBYR), developing extensive experience in teaching mindfulness to young people. As a clinician, she has been providing psychological assessment and treatment to adults, families, children and young people in different care settings, including hospital environments and private practice. Tanya also works as a senior research tutor and a senior research fellow within the Child Attachment and Psychological Therapies Research Unit (ChAPTRe) at the Anna Freud Centre/UCL, as well as a primary tutor on the DCPsych programme at the Metanoia Institute. Her main research interests include the use of relational mindfulness practices with psychotherapy trainees, developmental trauma, early interventions in psychosis, the therapeutic relationship, attachment, and developmental psychopathology. Tanya trained to teach the Interpersonal Mindfulness Programme with Phyllis Hicks and Florence Meleo-Meyer and began teaching interpersonal mindfulness with James in May 2019.
